Kaffee Haus

Part of Orientation is learning how to behave properly in a Kaffee Haus.  Mainly, you order drinks and savory food from your seat, but cakes, pastries, and baked goods from the glass cases up front where you point and order your cake, and return to your seat.  The waiter/tress will bring the goodies to you (instead of hand it to you over the counter).  On this day, I ordered tea (mit milch) and a butter gipfeli (croissant).  Gunter claims that the gipfeli (croissant) was invented here in Vienna after the Turks were defeated in order to mock them.  Then, the French perfected it (my words).
